Wambi was featured in Becker's Hospital Review as one of “36 health IT & revenue cycle up-and-comers."
From the article:
"Ms. Coren not only serves as the co-founder and chief innovation officer of Wambi, a gamified-digital employee performance system powered by real-time patient feedback, but also acts as the co-founder and CEO of the company's affiliate organization, Carepostcard. She is a member of American Organization of Nurse Executives' Corporate Advisory Council and was named the top female student entrepreneur in the country in 2017 by the Global Student Entrepreneurship Awards, a program of the Entrepreneurs' Organization.”
A Wambi team member who battled cancer was recently featured on a local news segment, “Cancer leads Jacksonville man to career helping doctors, nurses.”
“...Martin is back at Baptist not as a patient, but as a client experience manager with the company, Wambi. Wambi provides a platform for patients to write notes of gratitude and thanks to nurses, doctors or any other caregiver.
“It provides you an opportunity to just give thanks and gratitude for everything they do for you,” Martin said. “And it’s all from the voice of the patient, so it’s a very unique system out there.”
Baptist Health recently began a pilot with Wambi. A hospital representative said they look forward to seeing the results in the spring.
“If your manager tells you 'good job' and gives you a high-five, it’s okay,” Martin said. “But when you hear the raw, authentic words from somebody just spilling their heart out to you just saying thank you, I feel like that means a lot.”
Before his cancer diagnosis, Martin was unsure what career path to take. The treatment he received at Baptist inspired him to pursue a career in healthcare. Martin, an Army veteran, applied through the GI bill to go to school for nursing, but the day after he was approved he got a call from Wambi.
When Martin was fighting for his life, he didn’t have a platform like Wambi to thank his care staff. But he can thank them now.”
Wambi was featured in Becker's Hospital Review as part of the article series, "Becker's 10th Annual Meeting Speaker Series: 3 Questions with Mark Sparta, Executive Vice President of Clinical Operations for Hacksensack Meridian Health”
From the article:
“Compared to other industries, health care can sometimes seem behind on innovation. But I would argue that is changing rapidly and the embrace of new technology really varies network to network. In the past, the center of the health care universe was the hospital. The future of the health care universe is going to be the smartphone.... Our network, New Jersey’s largest, is ahead of the curve with a $25 million innovation fund and a streamlined process to vet breakthroughs in care delivery. Just two and a half years after launching what we call Bear’s Den, we’ve already funded two exciting innovations.
Additionally, we’re increasingly relying on new technology to enhance the patient experience including a new digital platform known as Wambi that delivers patient feedback in real time as well as staff recognition. We’re expanding through our 17-hospital network, says Mark Sparta.”
Alex Coren was named a "Rising Star" in the Top Five Women in Healthcare Awards, presented by PR News and Access Intelligence.
Wambi CEO Rebecca Metter was featured in the Fast Company article, "8 predictions for the state of women entrepreneurship this year."
In the article, Metter predicted that Millennial women want to work for female-led organizations and young companies. From the article:
"Cofounder and CEO of Wambi, Rebecca Metter says many female millennials working in corporate environments are feeling disengaged, constantly “mansplained,” and generally unsupported in their roles at large, predominately male organizations. This is why she predicts more women in this generation will be ready to break out of the predictability of their old positions and pursue new exciting ventures within startup communities. “There’s wisdom in the star power of the Girlboss brand: Young women are interested in entrepreneur culture,” she explains. “That said, they will look for organizations that reflect their values and are solving meaningful challenges. Millennial women want to work for organizations that empower them to exercise their entrepreneurial muscles, that support team members with flexibility and autonomy in their roles, and are on a meaningful mission—potentially even a social good mission.”
“One hundred years from now, hospitals will be nearly unrecognizable as care moves to the outpatient setting and organizations integrate artificial intelligence, telemedicine and other IT applications to care for patients outside the walls of their institution.
Forty-five healthcare executives, including five from hospital C-suites, describe the key trends disrupting the traditional hospital and how institutions can prepare for the future. Regardless of perspective, the key trends arising in their responses time and again include:”
“This Compassion Day, Wambi, LLC announces the launch of its affiliate Carepostcard, LLC, an innovative way to spread gratitude in the healthcare community. Carepostcard is a free, user-friendly tool for patients and healthcare professionals to write and share electronic postcards of appreciation and for prospective patients to identify compassionate providers in their area.”
